Portable Audio explained

Glossary : Portable Audio

Sony LPEC codec
The Sony LPEC Codec is a standard that ensures any device in which is it is included is capable of delivering and recording (where relevant) the highest quality digital data stream or signal.
Noise Cancelling
Noise Cancelling headphones reduce unwanted ambient sounds by means of active noise control. Up to 99% noise cancelling can be achieved. They act like ear plugs so it’s easy to switch off and unwind wherever you are – especially if you’re travelling.
AVRCP v1.3
AVRCP 1.3 is a recent version of Audio/Video Remote Control Profile. It acts as a remote control, allowing you to manage a range of other devices direct from your WALKMAN® – for example, change tracks or search for an album. It works in harmony with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).
AVLS
Sony AVLS (Audio Volume Limiter System) is a protective feature of the PSP, WALKMAN® and other portable audio devices. Whether on a noisy train or surrounded by disturbance, it’s designed to prevent the volume being raised to a dangerous level. The result is valuable protection for your ears.
