Glossary : Home Audio
- 2nd Audio Output
- An audio output provided to feed a second amplifier positioned separately to the main amplifier in, for example, another room.
- Adjustable Line-Out
- Allows for fine adjustment of the output signal. Often used to match signal levels with other equipment.
- Auto Calendar
- A clock radio with dates from 1/1/1998 until 31/12/2100 stored in it. This means that once set, the date will be correct every month (including those with less than 31 days and those affected by leap years) without it being adjusted manually.
- CCAW moving coil
- Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire. Because the high-frequency audio performance of headphones improves as the mass of moving parts decreases, Sony has developed a special copper-encased aluminium wire coil that is around 30% lighter than conventional coils -- providing significantly improved performance.
