We understand it isn’t always an option to put your speakers in the ideal position which means it can be tricky trying to get the best sound. We’ve enhanced our auto calibration technology so that you get the ideal sound stage, just as you would hear in a cinema, no matter where you have placed your speakers.

Home Cinema systems with wireless Magnetic Fluid speakers

Clearer and more powerful sound innovation

We’ve used a unique liquid that maintains its magnetic properties in a liquid form to create damperless speakers with a shorter gap between the speaker voice coil and diaphragm for clearer sound reproduction. This means it reduces sound distortion and improves efficiency for a more powerful, clearer sound than ever before. And, because Magnetic Fluid speakers are more efficient, they use less energy and are thinner too – making them economic and stylish.

Keep the volume consistent with auto volume adjustment

Consistent sound levels for smoother listening pleasure

Ever noticed how loud some adverts seem, compared to the programme you’re watching? Or how the volume levels of online videos can be a bit erratic? To create a smoother, clearer and consistent listening experience, we’ve developed software that adjusts sudden changes in volume. It does this by focusing on the sound level of dialogue, so fluctuations are minimised. You also have the option to adjust sudden, loud background effects to make sure you always catch the voices of the actors– now that’s nice to hear isn’t it?

Share videos and photos more easily with built-in Wi-Fi

Go wireless and discover a whole new world of entertainment

You’ll find Wi-Fi built into more of our Home Cinema Systems, so you can discover, enjoy and share more movies, music and photos. Open up an exciting world of entertainment with Sony Entertainment Network, including catch-up TV, online videos with channels like YouTube™, movies on demand, music, sports, 3D content and lots more. While you’re watching or listening, find out useful things like what song is playing, or in-depth information about a film – all at the touch of a button.

You can even share from a smartphone or Sony Tablet just by ‘throwing’ films, photos and music onto your TV – simply hit the 'throw' icon on your device’s touchscreen and watch the content appear on your TV screen. If all your media files are on your PC, then it’s no problem, you simply access your media files directly from your PC through your Blu-ray Disc™ Home Cinema System for playback on the big screen. Our Home Cinema Systems come alive and become an even greater source of fun and entertainment.

Stylish, slim and wireless

Look across our Home Cinema Systems, and you’ll see slimmer, smarter designs with wireless rear speakers built-in for greater freedom. Players and speakers are elegant and understated, some with brushed aluminum trims. Our new Magnetic Fluid speakers are sleek and stylish, with profiles that fit beautifully into your home. Wireless rear speakers are both practical and low profile. It means no trailing wires from the front to the back of your room to blend seamlessly into any surrounding. What’s more, for selected Home Cinema Systems, we’ve added a choice of layouts, horizontal or vertical – it’s all up to you.
