I don't know if you are after in-ear but if you are I actually bought a pair of RHA MA-350. I've had Shure and Beyerdynamic before and those are both excellent sound quality but the RHA really were a match for them, at a far lower price. I picked mine up for @£26 direct from RHA (Reid and Heath Audio). To be honest I went with them because they were such good value, get great reviews but mostly because they are made in the UK :-).

If you are after really good 'full' headphones then I can highly reccomend the Grado SR60i. Looks won't be to everyone's tastes, and they are at the top end of your budget (@£90) but they do sound amazing. Get great reviews everywhere.

I use both of them with my Tablet S and both work very well with it.

On the wireless issue I've no idea. My mate at work has a really nice pair of bluetooth headphones but he hasn't mentioned if they drain the battery on his iPhone or iPad. I was also considering some for my next set of cans and I'd be interested to hear about that as well if anyone on the forum uses wireless phones.

For me the ICS delay would be acceptable if Sony just talked to their customers. I think the majority of people would have taken it on the chin if better communications had been undertaken by Sony. A little bit of customer care would go a long way....

The other big bit that bothers me, more than the lack of ICS yet, is the lack of any sign that Sony are trying to intergrate this tablet with the rest of their kit. I have harped on before about the baffling decision not to let the tablet communicate with the PS3 but it does amaze me. As Kigujra says, the promise of convergence is what pushed a lot of people to buy this tablet. To fit in with other Sony tech because people do like to have things that fit well together. That Sony haven't got their act together on this is a huge own goal.

Just out of curiosity Thalamus, do you know of any forum/message board where us owners of the Tablet S are likely to get any sort of response? As you might gather from some of my posts I would hope that a message board run by Sony on a Sony website might see a bit of interaction from Sony staff. Seeing as we get nothing from Sony anywhere else...

Not having a go at you btw (constantly worried about how messages on the interweb can read out of context), just hopeful you might be able to point us to somewhere Sony do interact with their customers as you seem pretty knowledgable :-)

Loving the behaviour from Sony on these forums.

Any questions from customers about future updates to the tablet (controlling PS3 remotely???) or the status of the ICS update are met with stony silence. But dare to post about using the product in a way Sony don't like and they are quick to act.

And to correct whoever posted from Sony, to put it is 'not allowable' is rubbish, it simply invalidates the warranty - I'll do what the hell I like with mine since I paid for it, thanks very much. Too many tech companies have this bizarre view of ownership these days, in my opinion. And frankly given the Sony lack of support/concern over this tablet I'm pretty much of the opinion it wouldn't matter if the warranty was invalidated anyway.

Anyway, are Sony really surprised people are doing their own thing with these tablets when a forum full of customers who have bought their products are completely ignored? Given the lack of any information/feedback/signs of life I personally thought Sony had pretty much abandoned this product in the UK. That said it isn't just the UK. After a recent trip to Japan and the Sony store in Tokyo I left feeling like it was pretty much a dead product there too.

Are customer service and retention concepts Sony have ever heard of?

Rich - That may make some sense as that seems to be the same reason I've heard given for the delay on the Galaxy S2 rollout delays of ICS. Fingers crossed if Samsung and Asus ship their updates this month then Sony might be ready to follow suit. Here's hoping, cos I've heard some very good things about ICS!

Is anyone from Sony actually reading this forum anymore? From the lack of activity around the Tablet S I suspect not. However, just in case....

A proper timeline around the 4.0 (ICS) update would be a very good start. Just saying 'in due course' is not very good. It commits you to nothing.

And perhaps letting us know when an update will be forthcoming to address things like the poor file transfer utility, the pooor DLNA support and (please!) some update on if you ever intend to let the Tablet S talk to the PS3 and act as a remote. Lots of people seem to have been mis-informed - ok, lied to - about this product by Sony sales people claiming it will be able to communicate with the PS3. Me included...

I know the Vita is probably getting all the love right now but you have a good product in this tablet and it feels like you are letting it commit suicide by giving it zilch in terms of support and development.I was proudly showing off in front of my Galaxy/iPad owning friends but without some love from Sony this tablet will quickly become redundant.

Loads of good things I hadn't thought of. Have to say I haven't tried using the DLNA yet but it does seem to be something people are finding frustrating. And also haven't had any problems with the browser on mine but I'm going to go and have a go running Sony sites on it now and see if I can break it :-).

The other thing I thought of whilst using it the other day was the addition of a simple file browser as a default app. I found it annoying having to download a 3rd party app to do something that is quite a straighforward piece of functionality (IMHO).

Just thought I would start a thread as a sort of wishlist for the next update of the Tablet S (hopefully alongside ICS!). After having the device a while there are two bits of functionality I'd love to see added. If someone at Sony could get back and let me know the possibility of either of these happening I'd be grateful.

1) Add the ability to have music/video files on SD cards added to the inbuilt Music player playlists. At the moment I (and I suspect everyone) have to transfer across music onto the Tablet in order to see them in the Music Library. Given that the ability to use SD cards with the Tablet S is a key feature, and most people will probably have several cards holding different films, music albums etc that they take around with the Tablet, it would seem common sense to avoid having to make your customers constantly delete files off the tablet first and then transfer them back on. At the moment it lets me build playlists using the files on my SD card but when I come to play them it shows the playlists as empty. If someone has found a way to do this already please let me know but I haven't so far. I have a suspicion this may be Sony attempting to push people to use its Music and Video Unlimited services but really, if you are going to go with Android please don't then try to control us like Apple....

2) Add functionality to allow the Tablet S to be used as a remote for the PS3 - How this isn't already a function of the Tablet S seems crazy to me. Especially given both products are made by Sony so they control the technology and have the developers in house who built them! I can control the rest of my home entertainment kit with the S but not my PS3. I know the PS3 uses Bluetooth and the remote that controls all my other kit uses IR, but the Tablet S has bluetooth so as far as I understand all that needs to happen is for the right Bluetooth protocols to be added to the Tablet S and they should be able to talk. Adding this in would just complete the picture as far as the key feature of the remote control functionality goes. I know I could buy the Logitech IR receiver and do it that way but when the Tablet and PS3 are both built by Sony I really shouldn't have to go via a third party and buy extra kit to make them talk to each other.

I suspect both the above are fairly easily achievable by Sony. If you are listening Sony Developers, I really think adding these in would give a big boost to the Tablet S. They both build on what are key features that set this tablet apart from others so it really is in the interests of Sony to make these features as strong as possible.

I'm sure there are other things people would love to see as well. I'd love to see what they are because I suspect I'm not getting half as much out of the Tablet S that I could be doing. And the only way Sony can know what we want to see added is to tell them and make some noise :-).
